Three ways we build software with you
Internal tools that remove the busywork
We build the internal software your team is currently faking with spreadsheets and manual handoffs: dashboards, admin panels and workflow automation built around how your business actually operates, not a generic template.

From the first architecture decision to production, we build SaaS products for clients who need a technical partner that delivers. We pick the tools that fit the problem, not the trend.

Already have a team or a codebase? We review the architecture, audit the stack and give you an independent technical opinion before the expensive decisions get locked in.

Your code, your data
You own the source code, the infrastructure and the data. We favour open-source, self-hostable tools and Canadian providers, so you are never locked in.
Local and bilingual
A Gatineau studio you can meet in person. We work in English and French with businesses in the Ottawa–Gatineau region and across Canada.
A written plan and price first
You get the scope, the architecture and a price in writing before we write any code, then delivery in increments you can review.
Experience that carries over
Consulting since 2011 across e-commerce, custom applications and payments, including the anti-fraud system behind YassirPay.
Software we build
and run ourselves
Workleen and Trackboard are products we built and run ourselves, on the same stack we use for client work.
Workleen
Workleen automates time tracking and billing. It pulls from the project, chat and meeting tools your team already uses, so nobody tracks time by hand.
workleen.comTrackboard
An open-source bug tracker that also handles support requests and feature requests. Any company can host it themselves.
trackboard.devMaison365
An open-source project to manage real estate — sales and rentals.
Client reviews
What clients say about working with us
Reviews from clients of Abdelmadjid Cherfaoui, who leads every engagement at Bitsoven.
I enjoy working with AbdelMadjid, after a short engagement, it was evident that he is a talent whom we would surely want to engage with on the longer term. Besides his expertise as a full stack engineer and a product manager, AbdelMadjid brings proactivity, ownership, and quality to everything he does, and now we are very happy to see him becoming an integral member of our Talent Check core team.
Excellent job. Very honest professional. Good communicator and went above and beyond. Looking forward to working soon with Abdelmadjid again on another project. I will definitely hire again once I need any task related to his expertise.
Super fast responses and was able to go above and beyond to fix the problems I was having. Will definitely work together in the future! A+++
Why teams choose Bitsoven
- We deliver working software.Every build ends in a system your team is using, not a slide deck.
- We build what we sell.We run our own products in production, so we know what it takes to keep software working after launch.
- Code you can inspect. Some of our work is open source, so you can read our code before you commit to a project.
- Small team, direct access. You work with the engineers building your software, not a layer of account management.
We can run it for you
Own your software without having to run it yourself
Owning the code does not mean managing servers. For a monthly fee, we run your software in a Canadian data centre, or on a server you own, and keep it updated, backed up and monitored.
- Canadian hosting or your own serverWe set it up where you want it: in a Canadian data centre we manage, or on infrastructure in your own name.
- Updated, backed up, monitoredWe apply security updates, keep backups and watch for problems, so your team does not have to.
- Free to leaveA written handover means you can move to your own team or another provider whenever you choose.
Questions we get asked before a project starts
Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer? Tell us about your project.
What kind of projects do you take on?
Internal tooling, custom SaaS builds for clients, and technical consulting on existing software. If it involves writing and maintaining real production software, it's probably a fit.
How does pricing work?
Every project is scoped around the problem, so we do not publish a price list. After a first conversation we put the scope, the approach and a fixed price in writing before any work starts. Work outside that scope is quoted separately before we begin it. If your budget and the problem do not line up, we will say so early rather than let you find out later.
Who owns the code and the data?
You do. The source code, the infrastructure and your data belong to you. We favour open-source, self-hostable tools over lock-in, and we keep your data in Canada wherever possible.
Do you work with early-stage startups or only established companies?
Both. We work with founders who need a technical partner to turn a validated idea into a real product, and with established companies replacing an outgrown MVP or building internal software. What matters is that the problem is real and involves production software. If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
What's your typical engagement length?
A focused technical review is a different job from building a product, so we scope each engagement around the problem and deliver in increments. After a first conversation you get a written plan with a realistic timeline. We build software meant to run in production for years, not weekend prototypes.
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes. Post-launch support, monitoring and iteration are part of what we do, and we stay involved as your needs evolve — or hand everything off cleanly if you'd rather take it in-house. Either way, you own the code and the infrastructure.
Where are you based, and do you work in French?
We are based in Gatineau, Quebec, and we work in English and French. We meet in person with clients around the Ottawa–Gatineau region and work remotely with clients across Canada.
Can we see examples of what you've built?
Yes — our Products page shows what we build and run ourselves. For examples from client work, get in touch and we will walk you through what we can share.
Have a system that needs building?
Tell us what you need. You get a written plan and a price before we write any code. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.
